T5 RESEARCH: New technology ideas

Researching new technologies and experimental approaches has allowed me to consider how digital processes can be applied meaningfully within my body of work. Rather than using technology as a surface effect, I wanted to investigate how digital photography and AI-based processing could become part of the conceptual and structural language of Life in Pieces.
I want to incorporate digital photography and AI-based processing as central technologies within the work. These technologies function as structural tools rather than aesthetic enhancements, enabling fragmentation, repetition, and movement to be realised both materially and temporally. The self-portrait can be manipulated limitless using a mobile AI editing application - Megaphoto. The rationale for selecting these types of technologies is directly tied to the conceptual framework of the project. My experience of identity is shaped by unpredictability, and digital systems operate in a comparable way, restructuring images through algorithmic processes that remove stability and introduce variation. Technology mirrors this instability, restructuring the image through variation rather than resolution.
